Pete, it would be a real service to all of us if you would send your open letter to MicroSoft directly to Bill Gates. Be sure to let him know that hundreds of people on UseNet are reading it. That's the only way to be sure that they get the message. I've generally found that you get more of a response by writing directly to the top of a company with complaints. If nothing else, you can judge their level of indifference/ arrogance by the level of the person who responds.
