That's true only of DOS 2.x.  Without ever mentioning it (even in the manual)
Microsoft changed function 56h so it can, and does, rename directories in
DOS 3.x.

We call this secret, silent progress.

A short while ago someone posted a long article on the net about compatibilitiesand incompatibilities of RLL and MFM disk drives and controllers.

The artice contained a lot of detail descriptions owhy and where RLL controlollers might be compatible with MFM drives.

I failed to make a copy of this article and now find myself in a situation in   which I could use some of the information.

Could someone on the net e-mail me a copy or re-po? I would really appreciate e that!!!
