I have a PC-compatible connected via null modem cable to a Sun workstation, at 19,200 baud. This usually works great but every once in a while I don't get a login prompt from the Sun. Without disconnecting the cable, I tried rebooting the Sun, then the PC (powering it off). No luck. Messed around with gettys, etc on the Sun...no luck. Rebooted the Sun with the cable pulled out of its port...no luck. Powered off the PC, disconnected the cable, and powered on, then re- connected the cable...this works. Any ideas on why? Doug Harvey
