The IBM Microchannel PS/2s include bimodal firmware called ABIOS. In the associated tech reference, the techniques for adding new devices and functions is explained. Actually, it is almost explained. Enough detail is given to almost provide sufficient information to implement a RAM ABIOS extensions. For some reason, we seem to have to implement an ABIOS extension. I have lots of unanswered questions. I asked IBM for support. The response of their developer support group in Boca was that is should ask my local computer store (yes, truth is stranger then fiction). If anyone has any information, experience or even guesses, we like to hear them. Arthur H.
