[net.music] Looking for a band or musicians to form one

I am a keyboard player/singer/songwriter looking to form or join a
band in or near Eatontown, New Jersey. My stylistic interests are
varied, and, that being the case, I would like to be in a band that
is willing to play more than one type of music. My primary interest
is musical rather than financial, but I do not want this to be just
a "jamming band." I do want to perform in public, perhaps once or
twice a month.

The players I would like to see might be as follows:

Guitarist/singer/songwriter - plays acoustic and electric guitars
equally well, lead as well as rhythm. Can handle both lead and
backup vocals. Reads music, but also has a good ear and can lend
original interpretation to cover material.

Bassist - good technique and touch, at least backup vocals, original
material desirable. Reads music, but also has a good ear and can
lend original interpretation to cover material.

Drummer - equally adept on set an other percussion instruments. Backup
vocals desirable. Experience with electronic percussion and/or other
instruments (e.g. guitars, keyboards, or novelty instruments) desirable,
but not a must.

My own assessment of my qualifications in those areas follows:

Keyboardist/singer/songwriter - Experience with various acoustic and
electric keyboards, including digital synthesizer which allows synthesis
of most any keyboard or orchestral instrument. High tenor voice, experience
with lead and backup vocals. Songwriting spans pop, new wave, country,
blues, gospel, rock, and ballad. Read music, but have a good ear and
arranging experience for rock bands, stage bands, and marching bands.

Other factors:

I don't really have a good rehearsal location. I'm willing to drive about
a half an hour each way for a rehearsal. The descriptions above are more
or less a wish list. Right now, I'd really like to do some playing.
