[I don't believe in line-eaters...But just in case...] Writing Style A mild flame Would you be so kindly to write your articles, so everybody has a fair chance to understand them; if not their meaning, then at least the words in them? This is not directed at anyone personally, but to everyone, especially you who has English as your first language. Remember there are many people on the net and many of the european readers only have English as their second or third language. In several articles I have seen strange words appears: unknown abbreviations, unusual elements of the spoken language and slang. I for one am not always able to guess the meaning of the words. So sometimes an excellent article can not be understood. Too bad both for the author and the reader. If you feel it is important for you to use non- authorized abbreviations then explain them in the text; (eg: NSF (Non-Standard-Features) ). Don't use slang or elements of the spoken language unless it is necessary. The above mentioned should not be applied to net.jokes! -- Kim Chr.
