A friend of mine asked me to post this. I'm not sure if this is the correct newsgroup but I am sure that I'll here about it if it isn't. He (his company really) needs memory management/garbarge collection software for an MS-DOS IBM PC/AT environment. The best I can figure they are using malloc()s (Microsoft 5.0 libraries) in a program which fragments memory. They want something which roams around rearranging chunks of memory so that larger free chucks are available at any given point in time. Not knowing much about MS-DOS memory allocation and knowing that MS-DOS is not multi-tasking, I'm not even sure if this is possible. (although I suppose a malloc() replacement and a TSR might be able to do it.) If anyone knows of something that is available to do this (PD or otherwise) please speak up. Since he's not on the net I'll forward any e-mail to him.
