For all those who have written me and asked how they can get a copy of ksh, the Korn shell, I finally have some news. Ksh is available through a service known as the UNIX system toolchest which was announced at the Dallas USENIX meeting. The price for source code, which allows you to make as many copies as you want for you own use, is $2000. The price for a binary sub-license agreement is $20,000. I am told that you must be a system V license holder to order things from toolchest. You can access the toolchest to browse or purchase by logging in to as guest on (201) 522-6900. Distribution is via uucp. In order to make ksh available through toolchest I had to withdraw all the requests that I had pending for release by letter agreement. So if you sent me such a request don't expect a copy of ksh to arrive someday. I apologize in advance for using the newsgroup as a sort of product announcement but this was to most expeditious way for me to notify those that have request ksh. David Korn ulysses!dgk
