A friend of mine has acquired a used Everex ST-251 hard drive. I think
that brand of drive is an AT-class. Is it, and if so, is it
possible to use with an XT clone system (that's all he has!)?? Does
anyone know anything about that model?
Any ideas, comments?
Thanks.......stevec

Steve, There are a couple of different types of ST251 drives, there's the MFM version and the RLL version. Both of which will work on the XT. The "advertising" people call it an AT drive because the "MLC1" drives (should say MLCx on the serial number) are considered "fast access" and therefor up to AT standards. Your friend should have no problem using his/her ST251 drive. "Ohhhhh... Lookie at the pretty disks... And so many finger prints too..." Nanook of the South uunet!sundc!sun!cup.portal.com!nanook
