Once again the members of the EUUG are gathering in Paris on April 1st, 2nd and 3rd. at the Palais dex congres (where is that accent grave? probably } or |) While I can't promise a perfomance to match the Joyful marketing of the last Paris meeting, we do have Ian Johnstone again. Ian might be presauded to re-use his favourite answer to any commercial question the last time we were in Paris `AT&T is not in the computer business!' Ian now works for Sequent ... which is in the computer business, but he knows the Paris audience's reaction to sales pitches. The two AT&T speakers, Duff and Cherrie, don't use UNIX 5 and Duff has promised not to mention any AT&T products. AT&T is not in the flying saucer business! As for the balance of the program, the overall theme seems to be UNIX, the arts and communication, with a little software engineering to spice up the program. I personally think it will be a extremely enjoyable program and will offset the disappointment of the local beer. In addition to the technical [sic] sessions, there are social events on all three evenings, culminating in a concert at IRCAM. After all what else is there to do in Paris. It sure isn't Leeds. For those who are interested in computers, there is an exhibition being held on the first level of the Palais de Congres from April 2nd through to the 4th which is organized by Network Events Ltd.
