Awhile back I inquired about RLL controllers and whether they would work with ST-251s. Well I went and got a Western Digital WD1003-RA2 controller. I replaced my WX2 controller with this one (I have an AT clone). Aside from some problems getting the thing to format my drives (which the tech department at Micro City here in Austin was extremely helpful in doing; I wouldn't hesitate to do business with them again) it works. If you decide to get one and have Disk Manager I'll be glad to give you a hint that will cause you not to have the problem I did (it was my fault that I couldn't initialize the disks). Best of all, the thing works with Xenix 2.2.1 (SCO) which now gives me 120Mb of space (I have 2 ST-251s). Thanks to all who responded to my request for info. I don't know if the Adaptec will work with Xenix or not. The RA2 writes 26 sectors/track. -- John B.
