I recently had the opportunity to play around with an ATI EGA Wonder card, and was _somewhat_ impressed with what it could do on a mono (TTL) monitor. (I didn't get to try it on a color monitor.) I seem to remember seeing mention somewhere recently of other cards that can simulate CGA/EGA graphics on monochrome monitors (by displaying colors as shades of -- amber, in my case). I've been wondering whether any of these do a better job than the ATI, and how well they perform on color monitors. Also, how well the VGA versions (if any) work, both in mono and color. I happen to like my nice crisp mono monitor and my Hercules (clone) graphics, but sometimes have problems when I want to run software that expects a color monitor. Besides, someday I may give in and switch to color (if I can get decent resolution).
