[comp.sys.ibm.pc] Kermit toys needed

pervect@bsu-cs.UUCP (Barrett Kreiner) (08/05/88)

H'lo Netland!

I got a REAL juicy problem for those of you who like them :-)

I'm running Kermit 2.31 (love it to death!) on a PC-XT compatable w/EGA.
I'm also using the NEWFNT display enhancer system (I'm doing this posting
with JOVE in 80x42 lines). NEWFNT allows you to edit the font you use.
(It's PD shareware, I'm willing to approach Dhesi if anyone wants to see
it posted)

Kermit has this neat thing that patches vtxxx series characters into the
IBM-PC STANDARD set (i.e. puts the 1'st scanline char = 3'rd scanline char
ect. ect... = to the underscore character or whatever). I want to patch
my kermit so it will work with my fonts and produce the true vtxxx char set.

Also, some programs on our VAX use Z29 chars for psudo-graphic displays.
(Stuped I know, but they were the main terminal on campus for a LONG time)
is there anyway I could get a patch to accept the control sequence of the
z29 and filter them through the patch?

I got reference info on the z29 if it'll help.

NOTE! my sysop has warned me not to receive more than 10k mail per day,
so please don't send me the the whole source code (or whatever)
without a couple of days warning.

Thanx for all/any help from the net.
