I have Sidekick Plus (SKP) and would like to use some of its features to better advantage. In particular, I would like to be able to import and export from flat, dBase or Wordstar files into phone.adr or personal.app files and design my own phone forms. Borland provides a utility, skconv, that converts Sidekick or Traveling Sidekick dialer and calendar files into SKP format. Unfortunately, this utility does little to convert the information other than name and phone into the format used by one of the supplied templates, and once in a form, the information can't easily be moved from one field to another. There isn't any documentation describing what the format of the input file should be -- I presume Borland assumes a SKP owner has previously used Sidekick! In addition, the SKP documentation states that "You can use any number of forms in the phonebook file, though you cannot define a form yourself." I find it difficult to accept that a company such as Borland would put out a utility that isn't very or useful or friendly to the people who will be using it. Therefore, I would like to know if anyone has information on the format of the SKP .adr and .app files and whether there is a way to modify and/or read/write these files using some tool other than SKP? I would also like to know if there is a way to read/write the phone.frm file such that a user can change forms to meet his/her needs? Thanks for your help. Dave Beyerl ihnp4!ihlpl!db21
