Hello, Is there anybody out there who can help me downloading some encrypted (*.arc) files from the net ? As I am a beginner in doing this I don't know how to use the uude(en)code version I have on my PC. I even doubt that I have the right version. It goes : Usage : uudecode file (mail | uudecode file) whenever I try to start it without any parameters, and it drops dead - I suppose it reads the keyboard and echoes it back to the screen - when I start it with a filename as a parameter (this file will be overwritten with a blank file). Now, the trouble is that I don't know where I got this uudecode from, and I can't download another uudecode that is scrambled. So, could anyone send me (or rather post it to the net) a version of uude(en)code with some information of how to use it ? If anyone has the sources of uude(en)code, I would be very pleased to receive them. Thanks. Have you tried your version of uudecode with redirection? SOmething like: uudecode <sourcefilename {>destinationfilename} The destination file name should not be necessary since it is encoded in the uuencoded file. Try it and see if it works.
