[comp.sys.ibm.pc] TeleCAT 286 monochrome display question.

mike@mfgfoc.UUCP (Mike Thompson) (09/03/88)

I am barrowing a Telivideo TeleCAT 286 computer to do some software
development on. The computer has the standard Televideo monochrome
monitor and a video card which is labled Televideo High Res. Color Card.
I was under the assumption that this card is a monochrome EGA card
which can be brought up to color EGA by adding more memory to the
blank memory sockets and adding a color monitor. The display with this
card goes blank whenever I try to run EGA monochrome (B/W) software
on it. I must have recieved bad information regarding the video display
capabilities. This card does run CGA software though on the monochrome
display.

What I need to know is if this card is completely EGA incompatible. Also,
what will filling up all the RAM sockets give me. Unfortunately, I am
unable to get a manual for the video card so if someone can send me info
on the 4 dip switch settings (I know switch 4 controls power to the monitor)
I would be grateful. I hope to use the computer to develope MS Windows
software. Is there a driver meant specifically for the Televideo High Res
Color Graphics Board and MS Windows.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
