Based on my experience with Norton Utilities, what you ask shouldn't be a problem. Keep in mind that if you added new files or changed files since you erased the files and the directory, bringing back the directory and its files may not be possible. Using an UD (Unremove Directory command,) like the MD, RD, and CD MS-DOS commands, will unremove the directory, provided that you supply the missing first character. After that, it should bring up a list of all the unerased files in the directory. Use QU (Quick Unerase) or NU (Norton Utilities Main Program) to unerase the files. > After I removed the directory >I powered my machine off, so I don't believe I've disturbed the FAT or any >other file system tables. Any help will be appreciated. You don't alter the floppy or hard disk by turning the machine off, unless you turn the machine off *during* a write or FAT update process. I hope that helps! Darren M. <My version of Norton explicitly says "you can't restore removed
<directories". I tried. Rats.
The latest versions of Norton DOES have a UD command that un-deletes
direcories. I have the Advanced Edition and it has such a utility, I
have tried it and it works.
