Whether you can (easily) disable the floppy controller on the multi I/O card depends on the design of that board. The address decoder circuitry might control all the features, or it might be possible to disable to addresses for the disk controller. Without having the board on hand, it's impossible to say. You can, of course, use the new disk controller at a different address, but the built-in DOS disk device driver won't recognize it. You'll need to supply your own device driver software. That's my main objection to multi-purpose boards that have several unrelated features. If you want to lose one, you might have to lose them all.
