[comp.sys.ibm.pc] Compaq VGA card bug fix for Microsoft serial mouse users

    I was having trouble getting Deluxepaint II to run on my Compaq
  VGA card when used with my Microsoft serial mouse.  The program
  would load up, and the pointer appear, but after I moved the mouse,
  the entire system would hang.

    I called Electronic Arts, and they were of no help.  I then dropped
  in at the ComputerLand from which the card came.  The person there 
  gave me a device-driver type program which Compaq has distributed which
  fixes a bug when the above mouse is used with the card (something 
  about INT 10).

    I got my card in February, so I suppose later versions have the
  fix in ROM.  But if you're having trouble, go yell at your computer
  dealer and get that fix.  As for Compaq, why couldn't they have
  notified me of this?  I am a registered user!
