I want to buy an IBM PS2-30/286, IBM's says it has VGA card on board. Does any one know about the compatibility of this card with old IBM-PC/XT monochrome monitor ? (Can the old IBM-PC/XT monitor be used with this new computer ?) hartanto@shark.cs.uiuc.edu

No. PS/2's put out analog video signals, old monochrome monitors use digital signals, and never the twain shall meet. In fact you can't even plug the old monochrome monitor adapter card into the new PS/30.286 because the bus is different. I DO highly recommend the B/W display (8503) that IBM is selling for the PS/2 line. This is a gorgeous true black/paper white monitor which beats the pants off of any other monochrome monitor. I have one and I love it.
