[comp.sys.ibm.pc] Late response on mail order company

>My questions are: (1) has anyone dealt with B.G. Micro before. Any horror
>stories? (2) Has anyone bought the board in their ad? It is on page 291
>of the July 1988 issue of Computer Shopper.

I have dealt with many mail order houses over the last 8 years for
photographic and electronic equipment. Of all the firms I have dealt
with B.G Micro was the best. They are very friendly and are concerned
with customer satisfaction.

A group of us (around 35) bought Xerox 820-1 boards from them a number of
years ago and they gave us pretty good discounts on everything we bought.
All our followup orders were discounted also. What was especially nice
was that they remembered us and treated us more like old friends than
just some customer to take money from.

One followup order I placed was for around $30 and I charged it to my
Visa. I got a call from them two months later at work and they claimed
the charge was not put through to Visa. I told them I would call my wife
at home and check our records. They were right, no charge was ever posted
to my account. I called them back and told them we didn't get billed and
that they could re-bill it. Two weeks later I received an invoice in the
mail from them and the following was written on it:

Congratulations Steve! Today is your lucky day. I just
talked to my boss [the owner] and told him what happened
and how you checked your records to straighten this out.
He said to not charge you for the order since you took the
time to look into the matter.

I would not hesitate to order form them again. Unfortunately they don't
carry popular PC product stuff other than chips and random parts. If they
sold PC products I would probably do all my business with them.

Just a satisfied customer,
