[comp.sys.ibm.pc] SCSI cards for an AT

neese@cpe.UUCP (09/27/88)

Here is a list of some of the popular SCSI adapter cards and my personal
recommendations.

Future Domain TMC-830
8 Bit SCSI adapter with MS-DOS, Xenix and Novell Support. Cheap adapter
with resonable performance. Costs about 125.00 with software.

Adaptec AHA-1540
16 Bit SCSI Adapter with MS-DOS, Xenix and Novell Support. This IS the
highest performance adapter on the market today. Tandy sells it for 299.00.
Which is the cheapest I have seen the board go for.

Western Digital WD7000-ASC
16 Bit SCSI Adapter with MS-DOS, Novell and Xenix is RSN. Slightly slower
than the Adaptec board, for about the same price.

There are others, but these companies have the widest support. If you are cost
sensitive, then the Future Domain product fits. If you are performance
sensitive, then the Adaptec board looks good. All the above products are
very reliable and have very good support in the industry.

extensively tested the above products, so there.
