Does anyone have personal experience with the PERSTOR controller on an IBM AT? What hard drive do you use it with? Has it proven to be reliable? -- Richard Kaplan - via FidoNet node 1:135/3 Medical Software Exchange BBS (305) 325-8709 UUCP: ...uunet!umbio!medsoft!rkaplan

Hello Richard, we tried putting a perstor controller in my stsem and it did not work at all. The harddisk just gave too much bad sectors. I have got a seagate 225 in an unknown brand Taiwan AT. The friend of mine who delivered the controller used it on his harddisks and it worked perfectly. Guess you will have to have a rather new harddisk and it will work perfect. It looks like I can recommend it (considering the things friends of mine had with it) but it just does not work with me. If you want more info, try to contact RBBS Gaasperdam in Holland. The sysop there is some sort of expert on this. If needed, let me know and i will send you the number (cannot do that now as my AT is down and the number is on there....)
