[comp.sys.ibm.pc] NMS External Hard Disk

haroldt@teklds.TEK.COM (Harold Trollinger) (10/05/88)

Does anybody out there still use a National Memory Systems external
hard drive? It has a Fujitsu 86mb, SMD type, 8 inch drive and a model 8000A
National Memory Systems controller for the PC. I just aquired such a system
at a reasonable price, but I didn't get the driver software or documentation.
I would like to make a useable system out of it again, but without
the device driver software for it, it will be useless. I talked to the
factory (NMS was bought out by company named CFN Industries) and they said
it was so old they couldn't help me. They would sell me a new controller
for $900 though.
To identify my type of controller, it has a 60 pin connector
along the back of the board, 2 28 pin connectors toward the center of the
board and 2 Eproms in the center of the board. The board is marked "PCSMD"
in the upper left and "INTERPHASE" just above the edge connector.
	Any help will greatly appreciated.

Did you say "INTERPHASE"? Interphase is still in business, making SMD and
SCSI interfaces, in Dallas, or Richardson, Texas.
