I recently purchased a Vector 4 system for a real song! It claims to have both a Z-80 (ugh!) and an 8088 inside and came with some software and manuals (mostly CP/M for the Z-80): User's Manual, Extended User's Manual (mentions BIOS, Z-80 Assembler, debugger, etc.), Memorite (word processor), ExecuPlan (spreadsheet), BASIC-80, and CP/M-86 (mentions ASM-86). It has one floppy disk (hard sectored?) and a small hard disk, and everything seems to work. In scanning the manuals I saw one mention of MS-DOS compatibility, but no information how to obtain it. I also did not receive anything relating to the hardware (no maintenance manual, no schematics, etc.) Questions: 1) Since I already have an MS-DOS PC, I'd really like to get MS-DOS for this new toy. Any suggestions? 2) If MS-DOS compatibility is difficult (cost or otherwise), I could put this machine to work as a BBS, perhaps even on packet radio. Anybody know where I might find CP/M or CP/M86 Public Domain software for such? 3) Anybody want the machine? (Why, oh why do I get myself into such predicaments?)
