A friend recently gave me a shareware disk which demonstrates 2 different
programs for generating different types of fonts on a printer using
graphics. The one was "Bradford" ($15) and the other was "Imageprint"
($20 plain, $89 metatext). I was very much impressed by what these
programs could do, if I were to purchase the full-fledged program. The
program, as it is on the demo disk, is not that useful.
I was wondering if anyone has ever heard of either of these programs, and
how they compare to other, more commercially advertised font programs, like
"Fontasy" ($37 ?) or "Fancy Fonts" ($105 ?) ???
I don't plan on getting into desktop publishing heavily, but my wife is
involved in doing a newsletter with a readership of about 30-50 people
and it would be nice to make it look attractive. From what I have seen
of "Newsroom", I thought the quality of text was somewhat lacking. Perhaps
that impression is wrong though. Can "Newsroom" do near letter quality
printing?
Many thanks in advance for any help given.

Consider PFS: 1st Publisher or Logitech publisher. The same program really made by T/Maker. Super output on even cheapie printers and with 3rd party stuff it can use Macintosh fonts or you can make your own up.
