I am trying to find out how is the base 640k of memory is used by
DOS when it boots but before executing anything from the prompt.
How do I find out where the first available memory block is and
how long is it (contiguous)?
I know that transient portion of COMMAND.COM is loaded at the
top of 640k, but how can I tell how much it used -
another words, what is the last available memory address/block?
Also, where is DOS's stack while it is running?
I remember seeing most of this information is some older DOS
manuals, but I can't find anything useful in either DOS 3.x USER MANUAL
or TECHNICAL REFERENCE.
Thanks for any pointers.
