I have seen inquiries about the MKS toolkit in this newsgroup.  I'd
like to point out that there is no tar, a serious lack in my opinion.
There is cpio, but that's not the same thing.

true, but the good news ("gnus"?) is that there is a PD tar for free,
including source.
