Macmillan's Small Computer Book Club has made UNIX and XENIX: A Step-by- Step Guide the Main Selection for March. This book gives you detailed, in- depth coverage of basic concepts, ed, vi, ex, ms, troff, and shell programming. It's filled with clear examples, carefully explained procedures, and helful summaries. (It's also the funniest book on UNIX that money can buy.) While "the black book" may be fine for people who already know the system, this is the book for first-time users. It's been advertised in Computer Language and PC Tech Journal, and it's available in bookstores everywhere, including B. Dalton and (soon) Crown Books.
