[comp.sys.ibm.pc] ECHO OFF patch offered

bobmon@iuvax.cs.indiana.edu (Bob Montante) (10/30/88)

If the person(s) who wanted a patch to DOS will send me mail, I will
send back a patch to PC/MS-DOS that makes echo-off the default. The
patch requires using DEBUG or a similar program to find certain code
strings, and replacing a particular byte (the actual locations vary from
DOS version to version, so patches giving only the byte location are not
trustworthy).

Bob,
There's probably enough interest to justify posting.

The machine belongs to the company. The opinions are mine.

Mail to you bombed at some intermediate point. Could you please send
me the patch in question for DOS3.2? Or preferably, just post it
for everyone.
