I am running dBXL version 1.11 on a Telex 1280 (AT clone). I have written a small database application which makes use of the memo field. My program which edits the database uses a custom format file and AUTOMEM variables. Sometimes, when accessing a memo field, after doing an escape or [Ctrl-PgDn] to save the changes to the memo field, the hard disk will crank away for fifteen minutes and fill up every available sector with garbage and dBXL will finally issue a 'disk full' message. I then have to run CHKDSK/F to gather the garbage sectors up and then I delete them. When I get back into dBXL the .dbt file might be so messed up that I cannot access any memo fields. And then again, it might no.... Does anyone out there have any idea what might be causing this problem? Could I have made a programming error that only shows up at seemingly random times, or is this a dBXL bug, or even a hardware problem?
