[comp.sys.ibm.pc] Radio Shack Mouse. ERSO bios

kev@voder.UUCP (Kevin Hoskins) (11/10/88)

I have not seen (though it may have happened) any discussion regarding
the mouse from Radio Shack. It (they claim) is compatible with the Microsoft
mouse and sells for only $49.95. Is there anyone in netland that has owns
one of these little bargins(?) or has had any experience with one? In other
words will it perform adequately and is it worth the money.

I remember seeing something on the net in the not to distant past that
concerned ERSO bios. I seem to remember that the latest revision was the
topic of discussion. I thing that that my clone is currently using something
like ver. 2.23.

What is the latest version? Is it advantageous to have the latest version?
If so, how do I obtain a rom that contains it?

My XT clone system is modest having turbo (4.77 and 8 MHz), 640K bytes,
two 5.25 360K floppy drives, clock, parallel and two serial ports*, and
monochrome graphics. Oh yeah, it also has a Seagate ST225 20M hard drive.

     * One of the serial ports is not populated, but I have the chips to do
so. However, I have no way of knowing which of the level tranlators is to go in
which socket. Any suggestions would be most helpful. The board is a multi-
function one with parallel, serial, floppy drive control, game ports, and
clock.

     Thank you for any help.
