I'm sure that this has been discussed before, but i'm not a regular reader of this group. I'm also sure that there just has to be a simple solution to my problem. All i want to do is do a system() or spawn() call from within a C program of command.com and have the input for command come from a designated serial port. For example, i have been told by the manual that i have (for 3.2) that all i should have to do is: $ command com1: and presto! input now comes from com1:. Unfortunately, it (almost) always gives me the error: "Specified MS-DOS search directory bad" And takes input from the console. I have tried quite a few variations of all the different paramaters mentioned in the manual and none of them have been successful. My config.sys looks like: $ cat config.sys files=20 buffers=40 break=on device=dos\key_buf.sys device=dos\VDISK.SYS 1024 128 340 /E :M8 device=dos\EMM.SYS 16 2048 /QUIET /ERROR /TSIZE=16 device=dos\nansi.sys shell=c:\bin\command.com /e:800 /p c:\bin So, how do i do this???? Any help would be appreciatted. Please send mail to me at: det@hawkmoon.MN.ORG since i don't reguarly read this group.
