I am looking for a terminal emulator for the wyse 50 terminal that will run under MS-DOS. Screen is a CGA. Computer is clone XT. It should be able to manipulate a HAYES 2400 baud modem, but so long as as it talks to the serial port properly I'll be happy. It should be able to use the function keys and the arrow keys, etc in the appropriate manner. I'd prefer to use a package like qmodem (and I'd be willing to pay for it if its shareware, etc). Thanks in advance, Nick -- Nick Pemberton UUCP: !{utzoo, utai}!lsuc!aimed!nick AIM, Inc Bus: (416) 429-4913 Home: (416) 690-0647

The best that I have seen (and we use it all the time at work; I know personally of at least 45 satisfied (paying) customers - is Softerm. It runs on our 386-VGA machine iwth no problems, as well as on a raft of other MSDOS based boxes. It is written by a group in Colorado Springs, Co. (I have the exact address at work - send me mail for it..) It has dozend of emulations; our particular interest was Wyse-50 and it does that well. The only problem we have experienced is that when you are coming out of block mode it doesn't reset scroll to be on; it is an easy couple of key strokes to fix, but that is a definite problem. Good luck, and if you hear of anything else, please post. But the way Softerm costs about $200 (qty 1) - in quantities over 25 they were abotu $100 each. -- Ted Koppel == CARL - Colorado Alliance of Research Libraries == 303-750-9142 !hao!isis!tkoppel CompuServe: 71460,1572
