I am thinking of adding an external 5.25" drive to my PS/2
Model 50. Desired features are:
1) can be connected to existing floppy controller, rather
than taking up an expansion slot (though I'd consider
the latter if the drive is otherwise suitable)
2) able to set it to be boot drive / drive A: (needed for
some games with brain-damaged copy protection schemes)
3) able to read/write both 360K and 1.2MB disks (the
1.2MB capacity is optional, but if it exists, the
ability to read/write 360K drives must also be
present)
4) Cost $300 or less (less is better, of course--the IBM
drive is something like $350 I believe)
PLease use email; I will post a summary to the net if
I receive any substantial information or recomendations.
