Hi. I've run into a slight problem with Clipper, autumn '86. Clipper seems to have an upper limit of ca. 15 files (not counting system files such as console etc), whereas I (desparately) need a few more. I've already tried to increase FILES in Config.Sys, but Clipper seems to ignore that. I believe I've heard that summer'87 has a compiler option to fix this, but while I'm waiting (and waiting...) for the update I'd like to know whether there's a cure for the problem. I'm running dos 3.3, but the fix should of course be compatible with lesser vesions. And while I'm at it... I've found out that I can open a file in two different work areas, and maintain pointers correctly while reading the file. It SEEMS to be OK, and is of great value sometimes. Is this a dos feature or a clipper faeture? I didn't know dos was capable of this. To my best knowledge I'm not in LAN mode. I'm not skating on thin ice, am I? All help greatly appreciated. Email, please. I'll summarize if you like and enough answers. Bjossi -- Bjorn Heimir Bjornsson Internet: bjornb@rhi.hi.is University of Iceland UUCP: {mcvax, enea}!hafro!rhi!bjornb
