This subject has probably been bandied about here before, but I can't recall when or what was said.... so, to cut to the chase, I would like recommendations on which hardcard to buy. Briefly, I have an AT&T 6300, 640K memory, Sota 286i accellerator board with a V30 (8086 replacement) chip, and a 20MB Seagate with 1MB free. The simple solution is to delete some junk :-), but I'd rather not and its not a long term solution anyway; I'm going to need more disk space later. I also would rather not replace my 20MB disk with a 30MB disk, either. From what I understand (from people here) the Plus Hardcards are the most trouble free. I would be interested in people's experiences. The best price I have seen for the 20MB Hardcard is $515. Has anyone seen any better prices? And, if so, where? Also, has anyone had any experience with Western Digital's Hardcards? One would think that since they have been in the hard disk and controller business for some time, that their hardcards would be pretty good; I saw a 30MB Western Digital Hardcard advertised for $416. If it's just as good or better than the Plus Hardcard, I'd buy it. Thanks in advance for any and all information, positive or negative.
