Good morning! Has anyone out there had any experiences, good or bad, with a Marlboro, MA, firm called VNS America Corp. and/or the Siva computer systems they market? These are the folks offering the free 386 system when one buys $3000 in additional hardware or $5000 in software from them, but that's out of my league. I am intrigued by their *286* system, however. In the back of the current PC magazine, they're offering their base monographics 512K 12 MHz 286 box with a Seagate ST251-1 40 MB HD for $1300. For an additional $400, this becomes a 1 MB EGA system. That seems a reasonable amount of bang for $1700 bucks, with something left of one's $2K for a printer to hang on it. Is there any reason that I should run quickly in the other direction from either this firm or this computer? Any reason that I should grab it quickly? Anyplace you know of that I could get even *more* bang for approximately that many bucks? Inquiring minds want to know . . . . and we thank you for your support. -- JAY ROSENBERG Dept. of Philosophy CB# 3125 UNC Chapel Hill, NC 27599 ...{decvax,akgua}!mcnc!ecsvax!unbent ...tucc!tuccvm!ecsvax!unbent unbent@ecsvax.UUCP unbent@ecsvax.BITNET unbent@unc.BITNET
