I'm looking for a bar code/inventory control system for an average University Engineering department's electronics shop. We have the standard collection of scopes and other laboratory instrumentation that will needs to checked out to students and faculty. The ideal system would run on an IBM PC/XT/Clone complete with bar code reader, software to assist in data movement and storage, and interfaces to Lotus. There seems to be plenty of options for hardware, but very little in the way of software. I'd be interested in hearing about any systems from turn-key complete to 'home-brew' that are being used for this application. Please Email. Will summarize if anything neat shows up. John L.
