[questions about LIMSIM from Larson Computing]
LIMSIM is a mature product that was designed properly right from
the start, it offers a fully functional implementation of the
Lotus/Intel/Microsoft Expanded Memory Specification. The
documentation is good, providing both a detailed description of
INT67 support (the EMS interrupt) and typical device driver
examples for most large applications which use EMS.
We have been using LIMSIM for quite a while and are pleased
with its performance, however some words of caution;
if you are going to order the product from Larson Computing,
then specify fully your particular hardware configuration.
A demo copy of VER 2.x of the driver worked faultlessly with our
particular configuration (TI Business-Pro [AT class machine]
+ INTEL AboveBoard PS/AT) but VER 4.0 did not. There are
restrictions on which version of the INTEL AboveBoards will
work with particular versions of the software. In checking
locally it was found that certain configurations posed problems.
However all of the Zenith 80286 based machines have no such
problems. (This seems to be an INTEL h/w problem not LIMSIM's
problem.)
Obviously the best thing to do is contact Larson Computing with
your details.
