Currently, I have a piece-of-crap Zenith Z-148 computer. The built-in CGA is fine for text, but for graphics I'd like something a little better. Here's the problem: I only have two expansion slots. One of them is taken up by a hard disk controller. The other is filled with a joystick card. I'm looking for an EGA card that will replace one of the previous cards, as well as have EGA and a serial port. If the EGA card can't be found, I'd settle for a replacement HD controller that had a game port and serial port in addition to the controller (then, I could sell my current game card and replace it with an EGA). I have called many mail-order places, and the closest I came was an EGA card made by AST that also includes a serial port, a parallel port, and a clock. If I can't find the board I want, I may wind up buying that for $170 and switching boards when I want a joystick (and making do with CGA graphics). Also, if I'm going to have an EGA, I need a moniter. Does anyone have any suggestions? It has to be fairly inexpensive, and does not have to be VGA-compatable (by the time I upgrade to VGA, I'll have a new computer and new moniter). -- "Don't find a fault. | Marc Unangst Find a remedy." | UUCP: mju@m-net.ann-arbor.mi.us -Henry Ford | UUCP path: ...!uunet!umix!m-net!mju ---------------------+ Internet: mju%m-net@umix.cc.umich.edu
