I just upgraded DESQview from ver 2.01 to 2.22. It generally
works fine. However, I notice that when I run XDV (as opposed
to DV.EXE) and QUIT, the following error occurs:
invalid COMMAND.COm
cannot load COMMAND, system halted
and then need to reboot the AT to start over. The same command
exiting from DV.EXE returns to the operating system (IBM PC DOS
3.1) with no problems. I've only got one copy of COMMAND.COM,
which is in the root directory. Any ideas?
Incidently, I'm running 3 megs of extended memory, converted
to LIM 4.0 expanded memory with the ALL ChargeCard. It works
fine, otherwise, with no ill effects. The same setup on my
home machine works fine, even when exiting XDV. The home
AT also runs an ALL ChargeCard.
Incidently, the work AT has an ATEX video board chained to my
EGA card for a constant link into our ATEX minicomputer. It
escapes me how this might affect XDV.EXE and not DV.EXE.
