[net.general] Protesting the Beirut Hostage Crisis

rcj1@ihlpm.UUCP (r j) (06/21/85)

A campaign to protest the people being held hostage
in Beirut was started either in California or
Texas. If you oppose the actions of the terrorists
please do your daytime driving with you headlights on.
This may not have any direct influence for the hostages
release, but it will show Solidarity in America!
	Please participate....

			Thanks,

One reason the Iranian hostage crisis lasted so long, and
developed the way that it did, is that the Radicals holding the
Embassy watched the nightly news.

Between Jimmy Carter dropping everything to babysit the crisis,
and everyone's yellow ribbons, and flags, and bumper stickers, etc,
the terrorists rapidly realized that they had America by the b******s.

Therefore, I recommend that people not participate in public
demonstrations. They will encourage the Terrorists, and probably the
hostages won't hear about it until after their release.

Please, don't encourage terrorists! Show your solidarity in
private!!
