[comp.sys.ibm.pc] Controling the paralell interface

I am in need of controling the paralell printer interface on a <insert
clone makers name here> brand AT.  I believe there are only 4 pins which
I can put a +5v continuous current out on.  What I need to know is:
How do I control these 4 pins?
