A friend of mine is looking to buy a Packard Bell VX88-FM (XT). She is interested in hardware and software compatibility and the reputation of the company. The machine has the following specifications Processor NEC V40 CLK 5.5MHZ or 8MHZ RAM 640K RTC EXPANSION SLOTS 4 OPEN SLOTS INTFC SERIAL PORTS, PARALLEL PORT and SMC 9266 FDC controler on motherboard. P.S. 135 WATTS FLOPPY DRIVES 2 360K MONITOR 13" AMBER GRAPH. INTFC MDA, HDA and CGA on motherboard. SOFTWARE MS-DOS 3.2 and GWBASIC with Manuals The unit sells for $793 is this a good price? I would like information on the Packard Bell Computer model PBVX88. It is supposed to be PC compatible. If someone would be so kind as to supply me with information concerning how fully compatible it is and any other system information, I would be grateful.
