I am looking for text editors that work properly on VGA cards in mode 0x54, ie, 132 X 43 lines. I am aware that WordStar can work in this mode, but it is not as nice for general purpose editing. I would prefer a vi type editor, but could live with a Microsoft M or edt type editor. The M editor claims to work in this mode, but I haven't been successful with it. Microsoft claims the editor was tested on a Vega VGA. My VGA is a Paradise Plus, and that might have something to do with it. Also, does anyone know if there's a way to make DOS realize there are 43 lines on the screen? Must you rewrite every single function and application by hand using interrupt 10H to place stuff on the screen where you want? Please call or reply by long email address as I don't regularly read this newsgroup. Any help would be appreciated. John Lange Radian Corp.
