Aha! I have found out why grape.ecs.clarkson.edu is crashing. I just counted 26 tcp connections, with memory fragmented into about 40 blocks, most under 1K, only 11K free, and I just saw 16 malloc fails. I think I'm going to add code to refuse new connections if there isn't enough memory...
