People in this newsgroup keep posting "please humor me", so I will. One of my friends had to take a course in DBASE from Ashton-Tate, and they had to use DBASE 2 (yaugg). I got her a computer and everything was fine. I replaced the computer and everything was fine UNTIL she tried DBASE 2. She put in the DB2 disk, changed disks, issued a use-command (so far everything was fine), then she tried the browse command and everything went bazurc. Strange, thought I, maybee it's the BIOS. So I went out and got a new bios, but it in, but the problem was still there. Very strange, said I, let try and replace some off the boards. But before I got that far, she tried DB2 on an true Blue with 2 diskdrives: First I didn't work (like on her own) but then suddenly it worked !?! THEN we found out the problem: DBASE 2 just reads from the diskdrive it was started from, and it doesn't check to see if it's the right disk!!! This is awful!! I would sue Ashton-Tate if I could! (Only I can't in Denmark.) Some of you already know about this, please laugh. The rest: remember this story, and remember it YOU get troubles of your own. (I refuse put my name down here!)
