[comp.sys.ibm.pc] TurboC 2.0 'Rebuild?' feature

haskins@s.cs.uiuc.edu (01/09/89)

In TurboC 2.0, whenever I edit a data file, make a change to it (not to
c source), and then Alt-R Run, it asks me if I want to rebuild after
it has checked the source files for changes, and then all it
does is check it again before it finally runs. This happens regardless
of if I save the data file before running. Obviously it's confusing what's
in the editor for source. BTW, autodependency checking's off.

Now this wouldn't be so bad, but in a hot & heavy debugging session, it's
a pain to have to answer this; I know, it's only a simple 'Y', but....

Is there a patch yet to get rid of this thing? I thought that TC 1.5 took
care of things sufficiently, but in the craze to add bells & whistles to
justify the upgrade expense, maybe Borland added too much?
