This is the only thing I have found that works from DOS. DOS's
print mechanism is seriously flawed.

I STILL, after months of looking, have found no way to print TeX in the
background under DOS. I have posted a Microsoft Windows program
that allows one to do it under Windows, albeit slowly. (posted
in comp.windows.ms).
